This explains what we collect when you use aceweldingandtrailer.com, why, and who else sees it. We are a parts and repair business, not a data business — we collect what we need to get you the right part and nothing we have no use for.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, billing and delivery address, email address and phone number, and what you bought. We keep this because it is the record of your order — it is what lets us look up what you bought two years ago when you need the same part again.
When you pay: your card details go directly to our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Our store records only the payment result and the last few digits, which is what we need to match a refund to a payment.
When you contact us: whatever you send us in an email or a contact form, plus your contact details, so we can answer.
When you sign up for emails: your email address, only if you ask for it.
When you browse: standard web information — pages viewed, approximate location, browser type, and cookies. See below.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that make the store work:
- Clover (Fiserv) — card payment processing.
- UPS, USPS and FedEx — your delivery address, to quote rates and deliver your parts.
- ShipStation and WooCommerce Shipping — to produce shipping labels.
- MailPoet — to send email newsletters, if you have signed up for them.
- Automattic (WordPress.com / Jetpack / WooCommerce) — hosting, site statistics and store analytics.
- Akismet — spam filtering on forms and comments.
- Snapchat — an advertising measurement tag runs on this site. See below.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
The store uses cookies to keep your cart and your login working — those are not optional, because without them the site cannot function.
Beyond that, this site runs site-statistics tracking from Automattic and an advertising measurement tag from Snapchat, which tells Snapchat when someone who saw an advert later visited or bought. You can block these with your browser’s tracking protection or an ad blocker, and the store will still work normally.
We only send marketing email to people who asked for it. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Order confirmations, shipping notices and replies to your questions are not marketing and are sent regardless — you need those to know where your parts are.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax and warranty purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@aceweldingandtrailer.com or call (210) 667-1171 and we will take care of it. We may need to keep order and payment records where tax or accounting rules require it, and we will tell you if that applies.
Children
This site is a commercial parts store and is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, and payment details are handled by our payment processor rather than passing through our own systems. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not hold the information that would be most worth stealing.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
